water_has_no_effect_on_fake_flowers.mp4
an experimental short film, screened at the KinoRex festival in 2026.

about the work
«water_has_no_effect_on_fake_flowers.mp4» is an audiovisual experiment about the fragility of effort and the quiet beauty of useless attempts. The work reflects on moments when human energy is given to something that cannot respond, like water touching artificial flowers.

A grand piano appears from the darkness, a hand presses the first key — yet the expected piano sound never comes. Instead, the artist's own voice replaces the instrument: one voice per key, several voices per chord. A blink, a tear, a breath — each movement produces its own sound. Short vocal tones and fragments of unknown syllables merge into a language that has no clear meaning but carries feeling.

Layers of real flowers fade in and out over the piano and the portrait. Though the title speaks of «fake flowers», the film shows living ones, as if life itself resists imitation.

the film was highly appreciated by my teachers, who encouraged me to keep directing conceptual films.
